Flight Instructors

 

Elite Helicopters is seeking Flight Instructors (FI(H)) to join our busy flight school on the south coast to deliver professional flight training for the issue of a PPL(H), LAPL(H), CPL(H), and helicopter type ratings. This position may include other forms of ground and flight instruction and/or other operations according to experience and company requirements and can range from check flights to refresher training for existing licence holders, and accompanying trainee pilots on hour building trips in the UK and Europe. Commercial Flying opportunities may also be available for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Provision of flight instruction in accordance with instructor qualifications
  • Provision of ground instruction
  • Supervision of self-fly-hire pilots
  • Monitoring student wellbeing and act as point of contact for student concerns
  • Safety compliance and promotion
  • Supporting the Head of Training and Chief Flight Instructor
  • Delivering flight training and ground briefings as per the ATO Manual
  • Attendance of Flight Instructor Meetings
  • Managing student progress and training records
  • Delivering ground school for PPL(H), LAPL(H), CPL(H), and type rating courses
  • Conducting maintenance ground runs and test flights
  • Reporting defects in a timely manner
  • Assisting the Chief Flying Instructor in the development of training resources

Core Requirements:

  •  Valid UK CPL(H) with FI(H) and Class 1 or Class 2 Medical (dependent on role)
  • Cabri G2 and R44 Type Ratings
  • Total Rotary Minimum 300 Hours
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • English Speaking
  • Driver’s License

Desirable Requirements:

  • Other type ratings R66, B206, B505, AS350 Ratings
  • Previous GR(H) Experience

Working Hours:

Freelance – Full or Part Time

Flight & Duty hours will be in accordance with the ATO FTL scheme

Elite Helicopters is both an ATO and AOC operator based at Goodwood Aerodrome near Chichester, West Sussex providing a wide range of helicopter flight training and charter services.

We offer flight training on the Guimbal Cabri G2 and Robinson R44 helicopters, including Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL(H)). Light Aircraft Pilots License (LAPL(H)) and Commercial Pilot’s Licence (CPL(H)). We also provide Refresher Training, Differences Training and Type Ratings on the Cabri G2, R44, R66, Bell 206 Jet Ranger & Long Ranger series, Bell 505, Bell 407 GX/GXP/ GXi and the AS 350 (BA/B2/B3/B3e) Squirrel. We also hold approval to provide training for the Garmin GFC 600H Helicopter Flight Control System where fitted to the Bell 505 and Airbus AS350 (BA/B2/B3) aircraft.

We are the Preferred Supplier of helicopter services to the Goodwood Estate, and offers Charter Flights, a Park & Fly service and Pleasure Flight for the Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival and charters to the Qatar Festival (Glorious Goodwood). We also provide charter services to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Royal Ascot, Glastonbury Festival and many more major events.
